Ninth Grade Team

Thank you so much to the ninth grade team for all your support during this week!  From giving me advice about specific students, bringing everyone breakfast, establishing rules for our school...you have been amazing.  Also, Wendy thank you for making my day today and showing me the new Mac lab that I can now use to download software...you have gone out of your way to be our Tech Super Hero.

City Year Appreciates WLA support!

Yesterday during lunch City Year invited WLA to participate in our first EWI (early warning indicator) meeting. We at CY so very, very much appreciate everyone from Leadership who attended for taking the time to discuss our students so that we can best support them! Thank you all for your support and collaboration!

Science Success!

 Hi WLA Staff!

I have taught a couple of really fun science experiments that the kids loved!  Today we modeled rock abrasion in fast moving water by vigorously shaking rock chips in water bottles with a small amount of water.  The students learned about how sediment comes from the bits and pieces of rock that is broken off and carried away by the water.  Check out some of our budding young scientists below!
